- • The patient population being served has
grown from less than 2,000 patient visits in our first
year of operation to over 21,000 during fiscal year
2005-2006.

The University of Colorado Dental School rotates their
dental students through ICHC as part of the training
program.
•
The counseling program provides an internship for
graduate counseling students from various graduate
level programs.
•
ICHC is accredited for medical students, from the
University of Colorado medical school, to serve their
preceptorship in the medical program of ICHC.
•
Residents from the St. Anthony Family Practice Residency
Program deliver the prenatal patients from ICHC and
obtain beneficial experience while providing a needed
service.

In October 1999, the Dental Program at Inner City
Health Center was selected to receive the American
Dental Association Community Preventive Dentistry
Award (highest award).

In September 2002, an audit by the Colorado Academy
of Family Physicians (under a grant by the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment) reported
that Inner City Health Center had the highest immunization
percentage of any program in Colorado for their initial
audit (85% of immunizations for children 19 to 33
months old were up to date). The current state rate
is approximately 75%; the Colorado Healthy People
2010 goal is 90%.

In March 2003, Inner City Health Center was the recipient
of the 2003 Hero in Health award from Anthem Blue
Cross and Blue Shield for the exceptional work done
on behalf of the uninsured and underinsured of Colorado.

Also, Inner City Health Center has just been named
a finalist in the 2003 El Pomar Foundation Awards
for Excellence program that recognizes outstanding
non-profit organizations for the work being done in
the community. Hundreds of non-profit organizations
were originally nominated for this statewide honor.
•
ICHC has been a Post News Season to Share grant recipient
for several years; 2003, 2004, 2005.
•
Selected as a Champion in the Community by the Denver
Broncos Charities. ICHC will partner with the Denver
Broncos Football Club to improve the lives of Coloradans
through health. The support of the Denver Broncos
will continue until 2009.
•
Most recently, ICHC was named The 2006 Denver Metro
Chamber of Commerce Non-profit Organization of the
year.
