Our emphasis is on providing personal, long-term care. We offer basic health care to treat sudden illnesses or long-term diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Physicals, screenings, and immunizations are available to prevent illness and detect dangerous diseases and conditions.
· As part of the Adult Medical Department, the Diabetic Program continues to successfully address the high incidence of diabetes among minorities and the low income. The Diabetic Care Program Coordinator conducts several diabetic education classes (in English and Spanish) on cooking and healthy living and continued the Healthy Lifestyles Program on a regular basis. This Program addresses the need of comprehensive services for medically indigent and uninsured diabetic patients.
· ICHC also hosts Group Medical Visits that provide education and discuss the emphasis of a healthy lifestyle. Individuals communicate with one another about specific health topics. These classes are offered on a regular basis.
