Inner City Health Center Winner of El Pomar Foundation’s Awards for Excellence
At the 19th Annual Awards for Excellence Presentation Banquet held by the El Pomar Foundation at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs on November 28, 2007 Inner City Health Center was named the winner in the Health Care - Large category. Awards for Excellence is an El Pomar Foundation Community Stewardship Program established in 1989 to recognize and reward Colorado nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals that serve their communities with distinction and excellence. Honorees do not apply for the awards, but are nominated and selected by the Awards for Excellence Selection Commission. Commission members, appointed by El Pomar Trustees, represent a variety of interests and share a history of leadership throughout the state. Since its inception, the El Pomar Awards for Excellence Program has awarded $4 million to more than 400 organizations throughout Colorado.
Nonprofit Organizations are nominated in eleven categories: Arts & Humanities, Community, Education, Environment, Health Care - Large, Health Care - Small, Seniors, Self-Sufficiency, Special Projects, Sports & Recreation, and Youth Development.
Inner City Health Center was a finalist in the Health Care- Large category along with Denver Health and the Colorado Neurological Institute.
ICHC was named a finalist by El Pomar Foundation’s Awards for Excellence in 2003 and 2004 before receiving this honor.
