Mayor Hickenlooper Visits ICHC

Mayor and ICHC staff

On Friday, February 8 Mayor John Hickenlooper visited Inner City Health Center as a part of ongoing support from the City of Denver. Beginning in March 1, 2008, ICHC will provide full-service medical and dental care at no charge to homeless clients in transitional housing four Saturdays each month. Inner City is partnering with the City of Denver and several other local non-profit organizations for 'Denver's Road Home- The Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness'.

Homeless individuals will be referred to Inner City by the Denver Rescue Mission and St. Francis Center. We expect to provide homeless individuals access to medical and dental care, in addition to health screenings. After leaving one of the programs at the Denver Rescue Mission or another nonprofit, individual clients will be able to continue to access medical and dental services at Inner City Health Center after transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency. In essence, their health care will transition with them.
