10th Annual Community Kids Fair Celebrates Safety!
What a fun day! The 10th Annual Community Kids Fair was held on Saturday, May 31st at Smith Elementary School and it was an amazing sight! Inner City Health Center’s annual outreach to the community was another huge success. Kindergarten through sixth graders were able to get their old bikes fixed, replace the one they’ve outgrown, and get a new helmet.
Education about bicycle safety was provided by the Stapleton Transportation Management Association. Hyland Parks and Recreation came and distributed free summer pool pass for the youth to use. Local employees of the Denver Police and Fire Departments also came. Fun raffle prizes included amusement park admissions, multiple sporting event tickets, gift certificates and t-shirts, just to name a few. The Denver Nuggets Community Ambassador Mark Randall was there to sign autographs and meet the kids.
Over 350 kids registered and volunteers gave away approximately 300 bikes and helmets. A huge thank you goes out to all that helped to make this day wonderful for the kids.
