EXECUTIVES AND STAFF


Administration

Kraig Burleson - Chief Executive Officer

Kraig has been with Inner City Health Center since 1994. He is a Denver native and attended Manual High School and went on to graduate from Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kraig originally started at the center as the Business Manager, then later became the Chief Financial Officer and after the clinic's long time CEO and co-founder retired in 2001, Kraig took on the role of Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his work here at the health center Kraig worked in the banking industry for several years. In addition to his position at ICHC Rev. Burleson has been a pastor of the Loving Saints Christian Fellowship for five years. He serves on numerous boards and committees devoted to increasing access to quality healthcare for people who are uninsured, underserved or under-insured. These organizations include Congregational Health Partnership, Colorado Oral Health Network, ClinicNet, Denver Healthy People 2010, and the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved.

Kathy Henkelman - Director of Finance

Month-end financials statements were outsourced to Kathy's accounting business beginning in 1990, and in 2004, Kathy joined the staff on a part-time basis to oversee all aspects of the organization's financial reporting as well as bringing significant expertise to ICHC's management of human resources. Her prior experience as a business administrator at two large churches in the metro area has proven valuable in ICHC's operations. Kathy continues to employee 2 friends in her accounting business, from which they serve a number of other small businesses, non-profits, and consult with churches. Kathy serves on the leadership team for Aspen Grove Community Church and values her time with her husband, Leon, their two grown daughters, one son-in-law, and four remarkable grandchildren.

Connie Hutchinson, Director of Congregational Health Ministry

Ms. Hutchinson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Development Psychology from Colorado Christian University in Littleton, Colorado and also holds a Bachelor's degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She worked 20 years as an educator for St. Mary's Academy in Englewood and served as the Administrator for early childhood education for 9 years of that term. CHM was started 14 years ago as a way to integrate accessible health care within the community; Ms. Hutchinson became director in 2002 and the program became a subsidiary of Inner City Health Center in July 2007. Ms. Hutchinson has also worked 20 years with inner city ministries to people of low income and other cultures including Hispanic, African American, Indonesian and Mongolian. For the past 4 years she served as Coalition Colorado's chairperson for Cover the Uninsured Week Health Fair, representing 30 agencies and health care providers working for the uninsured and underserved. Ms. Hutchinson served on a mission trip to Lakota Indian Tribe Reservation in South Dakota.

Cindy Kihorany - Director of Operations

Cindy has worked at Inner City Health Center since 1997. A Colorado native born in Brighton, she has lived most of her life in Colorado. Having started her business career in the banking industry, she has now been in the health management field for over 20 years. Cindy started at Inner City as the Insurance/Billing Manager. After a few years, she took on the position of Business Manager and from there, her responsibilities have continued to grow. She brings a wealth of occupational experience to Inner City. She serves in many different positions: Building Manager, Privacy Officer for HIPAA, Case Manager with CWCCI, OSHA Officer and Projects Coordinator.

She participates in several community programs such as: The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Riders Committed to a Cure, Patriot Guard Riders, and is directly involved in raising funds to help wounded Marines and their families. When Cindy’s not working, you can find her on the road ‘dancing in the wind’ riding her VStar.

 

Medical

 

Ruth Albu - Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Ruth has been at ICHC for over 14 years. She has lived significant years in Canada and the South Pacific and lived one semester immersed in Mexico's culture during graduate school. Ruth has taken several non-mission trips outside North American including Argentina, South Pacific and Europe.

Robert Cutillo, M.D. - ICHC Medical Director

Dr. Bob Cutillo has been at ICHC 1999. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University and graduated from Columbia University with a medical degree. Before coming to Colorado, Dr. Cutillo did family practice residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Cutillo has worked 25 years in underserved settings including Chicago, IL., Washington, DC, and in Kinshasa, Congo (formerly Zaire) as a Baptist missionary. He currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Family Medicine at The University of Colorado School of Medicine, is on staff Exempla St. Joseph Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital and is a member of Medical Advisory Board of 9Health Fair.

Dr. Cutillo desires to see an integrated service of primary health care for the underserved that provides affordable access to quality care in an atmosphere of Christian love. He also believes that
the quality of care offered is based on the value of each person made in the image of God and not related to the social, economic or personal resources that a person has been given.

 

Heather Cutillo- Diabetic Care Coordinator

Ms. Cutillo received her Masters of Science degree in Nursing in 1985 from Rush University, Chicago, Illinois, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the West Suburban Hospital School of Nursing in 1978. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. She holds a certification in Diabetes Education.
Ms. Cutillo worked as a nurse in urban clinic settings in both Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D.C. from the mid 1980's through 1998. During this same period, she promoted health education as an outreach activity in urban schools and later served five years as a missionary to Africa. Currently, Ms. Cutillo promotes health related activities at the local church in addition to her position at Inner City Health Center. Ms. Cutillo speaks English fluently and Spanish functionally.

 

C. Susan Lehman, RN, C-FNP - Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Sue received her Masters of Science degree in Nursing in 1998 from Regis University, Denver, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Colorado in 1986. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Willamette University, Oregon. Sue has worked in the nursing profession for 21 years, at ICHC since 2003. She
speaks English and Spanish and has been on mission trips to Mexico and Viet Nam.

 

Dental

 

Elsa Castro, D.M.D. - ICHC Dental Director

Dr. Castro has been with Inner City Health Center since November of 2003.

She graduated from University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1997. Before taking the position of Dental Director at ICHC, Dr. Castro also worked for Colorado Coalition for the Homeless in Denver as the only staff dentist from 1998-2000 and in Rural Colorado as Dental Director of High Plains Community Health Center from 2000-2001. Dr. Castro was also a National Health Service Corp Provider from 1998-2001.

Development

 

 

Pam Krotchko- Director of Resource Development

Pam Krotchko, a 21 year veteran with the Denver Broncos organization joined ICHC in April 2008. She began her career with the Broncos in the Media Relations Department then became the Manager of Denver Broncos Charities and was integral in the initial development Broncos Charities. Pam was an advocate for Inner City Health Center through her work with the Broncos and is very knowledgeable about the mission and ministry of ICHC and is well known in the Denver non-profit community. She resides in Centennial with her husband, Gary and two children; Erika 9 years old and Michael 6 years old. Pam was born in Montana and raised in the Northglenn/Thornton area and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

 

 

Laura Alden - Development Associate/ Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator

Laura joined the Inner City Health Center team in July 2006. Laura is originally from Boise, Idaho, and moved to Denver in 2005. She graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Health Promotion and spent a year working with United Way of Treasure Valley in Boise. As part of her responsibility at United Way, Laura was responsible for helping to create a 211 volunteer center. She enjoys working to meet ICHC's mission on a daily basis. In her spare time, Laura enjoys golfing, softball and pretty much anything that gets her outdoors.

Melinda Arnold - Development Associate/ Campaign Coordinator

 

Melinda has been with Inner City Health Center since June 2006. Prior to her position at the health center, Melinda was a department manager for a national retail chain in the Denver area for several years.
She is a Denver native. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Melinda is an active volunteer in the Denver community. Outside the office, Melinda enjoys spending time with her husband Seth and their baby girl Carmen.


Sarah Gail- Development Assistant

Sarah is a brand new to the Inner City Health Center team, just recently joining the development department in July 2008. Sarah comes to ICHC with over five years of non-profit experience and is currently pursuing a Master’s in non-profit management at Regis University. She is originally from Oregon, and moved to Colorado with her husband Jeff in 2004. When not working, Sarah loves camping and hiking in the summer, skiing and ice fishing in the winter and anything that involves being with her family and friends in the great outdoors.

Carolyn Goers - Development Officer/ Grant Writer

Carolyn joined the Development team in August 2004 as Development Assistant. Her extensive experience in the corporate world has proved a strong foundation for her advancement in development as she currently serves as Grant Writer for ICHC.
Carolyn says the best part of working for Inner City is that the center
is faith based. Expressions of faith - prayer, Bible study, and words of encouragement - are a common occurrence between staff and patients alike.

Outside the office, Carolyn and husband Bryan enjoy cooking, photography, and road trip vacations.
