Porsia Carter - Billing Manager

Porsia Carter has been working at Inner City Health Center off and on for about 15 years. She learned about the clinic in 1991 when she first became a patient. Porsia was born here in Denver and has lived in the Five Points neighborhood most of her life. In 1993 Jan Williams the founder of ICHC and Peggy Fay offered Porsia a job. Porsia started as a part time filling clerk and then became full time at the front desk before having to leave because of family issues. She returned soon as a receptionist, but realized she wanted to explore the world outside of Five-Points for awhile and left again for a short time. When she later visited as a patient with her children, CEO Kraig Burleson asked if she would be interested in a billing position that was available. Thinking to herself, “God is good, and I miss this place!” she went home and prayed about it. Ten years later she is still here and glad to be a part of a team like Inner City Health Center, being able to help and honor people that she was once like.
