Christine Bess is currently serving on several different ministries, her past career positions includes banking, small business management, and founding, as well as directing a non-profit (CASA) program in Jefferson County. She has been a member of the Inner City Health Center board since 2005. Christine grew up in St. Louis, MO and has lived in Denver with her husband and 2 children for 23 of the past 28 years with two brief stays in Texas (Lubbock & Houston). She enjoys anything outdoors. Her family does a lot of hiking, skiing, and some mountain biking. She loves just hanging out with her 2 great children (18 & 22) and having their friends around the house (usually at meal time!).
Christine was inspiration to become a board member of Inner City Health Center through her past involvement with the clinic. Her family had volunteered for the Community Kids Bike Fair several years in a row and she had recently left her full time career and felt called to learn more about ICHC and it’s needs. Within a month of meeting Kraig (the CEO) she attended a board meeting, learned of the exciting upcoming possibilities of relocating to a new facility and wanted to do what she could to serve the ministry. The week before Inner City Health Center’s move to York Street Christine’s family was helping with cleaning and miscellaneous tasks. She stood in the front lobby and was overcome with the feeling of God’s presence and approval of what had been accomplished through The Center’s capital campaign and efforts to create a safe health care home for those in need. The Grand Opening Celebration was an amazing tribute to God’s faithfulness through the whole process.
