Mission
Inner City Health Center is a private, non-profit, volunteer based health care facility committed to improving the health of low-income and medically uninsured families. Our primary motivation is to express our love for Jesus Christ, our love for people, and our deep concern for their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
Vision
Within a Christian atmosphere of respect, caring, and valuing of relationships, Inner City Health Center will:
· Provide the highest quality health care for the whole person
· Provide opportunities for job training and employment for residents of the neighborhoods we serve
· Act as a bridge for creating opportunities between the suburbs and the inner city for creating relationships across cultural, racial, socio-economic, and spiritual barriers
Goals
Over the next 5 years, Inner City Health Center's primary goal is to increase access to quality, comprehensive primary and preventative medical and dental care to the uninsured. Our new facility nearly doubles the number of medical exam rooms and dental operatories, allowing Inner City to see an increased number of patient visist; The Center anticipates providing direct patient care for at least 25,000 patient visits in the 2009-2010 fiscal year, and potentially 35,000 visits annually within 5 years.
In addition to expanded medical and dental care, our new facility allows Inner City Health to present seminars on an ongoing basis to individuals and families. Seminars will include oral care and prevention, nutrition, childhood obesity, the importance of immunizations, healthy lifestyle education, early detection and treatment management of chronic conditions such as diabetes. By placing an emphasis on preventative health education and awareness, the Center will lessen the impact of uncompensated care on the community.
