Pediatrics

ICHC provides quality primary, comprehensive outpatient well and sick child care including neonatal, acute/chronic illness treatment, and appropriate immunizations. We emphasize preventative and diagnostic services and focus on center chronic conditions like asthma.

We know that healthy children are happier children, so we provide well child exams and immunizations for children from birth to 18 years of age. School and sports physicals are also available, as well as discussion of personal health issues, if desired.

·        Asthma classes for children are conducted by a volunteer pediatrician several times during the year.  There is a high prevalence of asthma in the inner city, and ICHC is working to meet this need of education and maintenance for asthma among our community.

·        ICHC is a participant in the national Reach Out and Read Program. Books that are age appropriate are given to children who are six months to five years old at their well child visits.

·        Our Cavity Free at Three Program focuses on oral care for infants and pregnant women. By participating in Cavity Free at Three, ICHC will gain the skills and tools necessary to become actively engaged in the project, and commit to intervention and prevention strategies that approach dental disease as a chronic disease, beginning with pregnant women.
